ST715 functional description
The ST715 micro-power LDO is designed to deliver 85 mA, while consuming only 3.8 μA at ambient temperature and a maximum of 4.5 μA in all temperature conditions. The wide input voltage range (from 2.5 to 24 V) and the low dropout voltage prolong the battery’s life, allowing it to deliver power to loads even with minimum input-to-output voltage differentials. Output voltage stability is also guaranteed by ceramic capacitors. The device has a full set of protection features, such as short-circuit current limitation and thermal shutdown.

ST715 applications
Typical applications are in mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), cordless phones and battery powered systems. However, the wide input voltage range also makes the ST715 an ideal solution for low-power industrial applications, such as home-health equipment, sensors, alarm systems and real-time clock backup power.
