Ultrafast bipolar
diodes are the workhorse of telecom and industry applications. They
combine high Tj with short recovery time, and, being used primarily
for transformer secondary forward rectification, they provide
the best possible voltage drop available.
From 1 to 200 A, 600 V Turbo2 and tandem ultra fast diodes have
been carefully tuned to achieve the best trr/VF trade-off as PFC
boost, freewheeling, clamping or snubber diode. As not all applications
require the same trade-off, the range has been split into an R
sub-range, a low trr range, and an L sub-range, for VF dependent
applications. TheTandem diode is a hyper-fast diode which can compete
with costly 600 V Schottky devices for a fraction of the price. |
