 The ST3243E Interface device consists of 3 drivers, 5 receivers and one dual charge-pump circuit. The device is a 3V-powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communications interface with automatic shutdown / wakeup features and high data rate capabilities. All transmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected against ±8kV ESD using IEC 1000-4-2 contact discharge and ±15kV using the human body model.
ST3243E has a proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage enabling true RS-232 performance from 3.0V to 5.5V supply. The device (with auto-powerdown) shuts down if the RS-232 cable is disconnected or if the transmitter of the connected peripherals is off. The device turns on again when a valid level is applied to any receiver input. Package available: SO-28, SSOP28, TSSOP28 and Flip-Chip28.
