RS-232 Multiple Drivers and Receivers

ST has introduced the ST75185, the first RS-232 standard interface device. The ST75185 is a 3 driver, 5 receiver device which conforms to the EIA/TIA-232-E and ITU v.28 standards. The bipolar circuits and processing of the ST75185 provides a single chip low-cost solution for the common 9-pin serial RS-232 connection interface between data terminal and data communication equipment.The pinout matches the flow-through design of the most popular devices in the market. This facilitates simple non-crossover board layout, decreases the part count, reduces the board space required and allows easy interconnection of the DB9S connector to the industry standard ACEs or UARTs.
The switching speeds of the ST75185 are fast enough to support data interchange between a host computer and peripherals at signalling rates of up to120Kbit/s with low capacitive loads (short cables).
