| ST policy is to guarantee traceability
between leaded and lead-free components. For that purpose ST production
management system is controlling and identifying Lead-free devices with
a flag which is used by marking and labeling systems.
Marking and Labeling will progressively comply with Jedec standard JESD97.
1. Marking
As of today all Lead-free products, if space permits, are marked
with the letter "E" (Ecopack), as described in the PIL CQA/01/2003.
On march 17 of 2005 the marking will progressively comply with the current
JEDEC norm JESD97, taking into account the different 2nd Level Interconnect
:
e1 = SnAgCu
e3 = Sn
e4 = NiPdAu
e6 = SnBi
2. Labeling
As of today "ECOPACK" is mentioned on the inner box label of all
RoHS compliant devices.
In order to comply with the new JEDEC norm JESD97, labeling specifications
will progressively evolve. The new labeling becoming effective by March
17th,2005 will be :
